Coffee Lover's Blog hop - Day three

Life is too short to not make time for what makes you happy...even if that thing is coffee.

For me it use to be a White Chocolate Mocha. But I have weened myself off of those and now my drink of choice is a Vanilla Latte.

These cute stickers are from a set i used on the first day of the hop. The sentiment is from Riley & Company.  This sentiment is very versatile and can be used for so many things that make me happy!

Happy Hopping and thanks for stopping by.

Coffee Lover's blog hop - Day two

Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog! I though for day 2 I would try to make you laugh. I love these blog hops because I get to bring out some of my silly stamps that I don't use very often.

The sentiment is from Riley and Company and is part of their funny bones collection called I drank coffee

The hip woman is from an old stampin up set that I have had for years. Every once in a while she makes an appearance and it seemed appropriate for this card.

Thanks for stopping by and happy hopping!

Coffee Lover's Blog Hop - Day 1

It is that time again! I love participating in these events because I get to be creative with my Coffee Cards. I want to come up with unique designs to keep the hoppers interested.

I am starting out sharing two cards I made with a cute sticker stamp set I found several months ago. I have been hanging on to it waiting for the hop to use it.  This set had enough stickers to create these two little cards and leave me a few extras as embellishments.

The sentiment is from STAMPlorations and is one of the sponsors of this event. They have some awesome stamps. You can use coupon code: STAMPGIRLMONICA for an additional 20% off through the end of the month.

The stamped sentiment on my second card is from So Suzy Stamps and the stickers are from Tim Holtz called Label Letters.

Happy Hopping!

MHKDesigner Inspiration Post - June

Hi everyone. I am here today with my Designer inspiration for MHKDesigns. I am using an image from a beautiful set called Flutter and Fly

This was a very easy card to put together, but with a beautiful result. The bird and egg sticker I had in my stash and I added a fun sentiment from a Tim Holtz sticker set I had.

This is my last Designer Inspiration post for MHKDesigns. I hope that I have in some way inspired you with my creations and I have enjoyed working with Mynn's digital images.

Thanks for stopping by!

I Brake for Playtime!

Last month I turned 50. I remember when I was young thinking 50 was so old. Well you are only as old as you feel! While my playtime has changed a bit, I still have a playroom aka my craft room and I make sure I find plenty of time to play!

The stamp set I am using is called Fashion Silhouettes and it has a total of 6 stamps in this set. I have shared with you three of them in my previous posts. I just love this set. Not just for the beauty of the images, but for the crispness of the stamping! That is a must with silhouette stamps in my book! The sentiment is called Grow Old and you can find both of these over at I Brake for Stamps.

I added some black NUVO Drops to accent the night sky. It was a perfect finish.

Don't forget to use coupon code: SAVE10MONICA to save 10% off your next purchase.

Imperfectly Perfect!

As a crafter, and in life, I have learned that everything does not have to be perfect to be wonderful. I think that is why I love this phrase so much "EMBRACE IMPERFECTION."

I had this Custom stamp created over at Simply Stamps. It is very simple and was not very expensive, but is one of my favorite stamps to use on my projects.

To see how I created this card click on my video below.

What is great about this technique is that it is very easy to do and you can't make any mistakes! Here is what I did.

  • On a 4.25" x 5.5" piece ofwater paper, push down the distress stain so that it creates a splatter affect.
  • cut down paper using a stitched die frame
  • Add parts of a background stamp using archival Jet Black ink
  • add some Black Soot distress ink using the Dots stencil
  • stamp "Embrace Imperfection" stamp onto some of the left over water color paper
  • Adhere onto a fancy die cut frame and add to the card
  • adhere finished piece onto some blue cards stock then on to the base of your card.

Find your Direction - I Brake For Stamps

Hi everyone! With Father's Day just around the corner, I wanted to share another masculine card using the full sheet Travel Stamp set over at I Brake for stamps.

You have probably noticed that I have created several cards using this set over the past few weeks. But this set is so versatile and perfect for those masculine cards.

I started out creating the background using distress oxides and a stencil from Tim Holtz. I used four stamps from the Travel set and then used a die cut to frame my image. I used a distress crayon to distress the edges and matted it onto some designer paper.

I added some washi tape, some droplets of paint and my card was complete.

Grungy Sunflower using Aqua Flow Pens

Hi everyone. I am here today to introduce you to the Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens.  These are uniquely designed pens that create a water color effect.  The pens heave you with a bright, vibrant finish.

The brush has a nice point so that you can also write with it as well. You can create your own sentiment or use them for the fine details in your projects.

The pens come in packs of three to compliment each other. You can also get the Glitter Gloss which comes in packs of two. These enable you to add some glitter and shimmer to your projects.

If you would like to see how I created this card, you can click on the video above. This will walk you through some ideas on how to use these pens as well as my process for creating this card.

I have provided a list of all the products I used to create this card below.  Thanks for stopping by!
